A LEADER'S CONSTANT COMPANION
lesson from the illustration of a bird, cow, cat:
- not everyone who drop 'poo' is your enemy
- not everyone who dig you up from 'poo' is your friend
- when you're in a deep 'poo', keep your mouth shut
1. PAIN
embrace the pain (not stupid kind of pain though).
sometimes we avoid from what God wants us to do because we want to avoid the pain.
2 cor 11:23-28
"could it be that the difference between where you are and the place where God wants you to be is the pain that you're not willing to endure?"
the higher you want to go, the more pain you will experience.
if you follow Jesus, you will be prosecuted. if you're not being prosecuted, you're not following Christ.
the quickest way to forget what God thinks of you is by worrying what people might think of you.
i can't please everyone, but i can please God.
when you're leading, don't worry about being criticised. worry when you're not.
galatians 1:10
when you're called and people try to pull you down, you need to go back to what God things of you.
2. THE PAIN OF MAKING HARD DECISIONS
step into the pain of obedience.
i will obey God even when it hurts, rather than dwell in the comforts of disobedience.
3. PRUNING
john 15:2
sometimes you need to move backwards for God to take you forwards.
God has to do more in you before He can do through you.
push through the pain, because there's more in you than you realise.
1 peter 4:16 if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed...
quit whining, quit complaining.
if you suffer for Him, praise His name!
