acts 2:42-47
if you're a follower of Jesus, you should be serving (be a church leader).
What is present when "IT" is present:
- laser focus
ministry leaders are to reach people no one is reaching and do things what others aren't doing (not do what other people are already doing). don't see it as a competition, but a complete work of God.
Instead of saying "and", we can start saying "or". less is more.
"what are you doing that you need to stop doing?" - see opportunities where others see obstacles
they know why everything can be done (instead of can't).
they know they have everything they need provided by God (instead of coming with excuses of why it can't be done)
acts 3:6 - peter passed by a beggar. he didn't give the beggar what he wanted, but what he needed. "walk!"
"what is God trying to show you through your greatest limitation?" - willing to fail
failure is not an option, it's a necessity. it's not missing God, but first step of seeing God.
parable of talents: the person who has one talent was afraid to fail.
leaders live by faith, not fear.
Jesus used Peter more (although he was the most that failed). peter preached on the day of pentecost because he first experienced forgiveness.
when you fail, shake it off and get back up (get rid off the thoughts that you'll never be good enough)
"what is God calling you to do deep down but you've been too afraid to try?" - are led by people who have it.
you can't copy someone else.
