jeffrey rachmat-leadership seminar-session3

the bigger you get, the more ppl who want to know you.

you become a good leader if you become a good follower. know how to be one.

if you know what to look for in a leader, then most likely you will find a good leader.

The ABC of Leadership:

  1. reputation/integrity. proverbs 22:1 - a good name is to be chosen over great wealth. you never know what you'll become, but if you have good reputation you will succeed in life. success= reputation + character.
  2. vision (destination, goal, target). we don't board a plane without knowing it's destination. make sure you're heading to the right destination. without clear vision ppl won't follow you. if ppl found the same vision with you, they become more passionate.
  3. planning, system. good planning will lead you to better result. get busy preparing, not repairing.
  4. strength. mark 12:30 - love God with all your strength. we tend to look atour weaknesses, but we will never get dtrong in it because we are weak. put your enegy to train wherere you are good at. if you train so hard on your weakness, you will not go beyond average.
  5. mission
  6. journey
  7. reward

INFLUENCE

to be successful in life you need the help from these ppl:

  1. best friends who can be honest to you, challenge you.
  2. a mentor who look after you. someone who is accountable to guide your life.
  3. someone who you can be a responsible to, look up to.

Types of leaders:

  • position leader. who uses his position to gain influence
  • personal leader. not necessary because of position but because of characters. Jesus is more of a personal leader.

INSPIRATION

a great leader inspire ppl. you can inspire ppl without you knowing. you stimulate them to do the same thing you do. inspiration starts with yourself.

SECURITY

a secure person knows himsef well, his strengths and limitations. know the purposs of God. confident. the confidence comes from knowing who God is and what He's calling you to be.

SERVANTHOOD

a leader's responsibility is to take ppl into a better place. leaders develop their pppl, put value in them.

SELF DISCIPLINE

you can't discipline others if you can't discipline yourself.
